Ephemera

Bronze skin,

Coffee eyes,

Who could ever forget,

The intensity of which his soul touched mine.

Hands slightly bigger,

A softer touch than most.

Silky fingertips,

With the power to evoke,

A raging sea.

A fire was kindled,

Before the smoke had time to evolve.

A beautiful mind,

Full of wonders.

A sacred soul,

Full of sorrow.

A heart who reflected back mine.

Revealed the depths,

Showed the scars,

Sleeves worn over our hearts.

A calculated presence…

Confident.

True.

A soul I could have loved,

If the book didn’t close,

If time allowed a pause,

If our hearts weren’t bruised.
